A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition looked at 45 women (average age 64) who completed a 90 day strength training program.
One group was randomized to strength training only; one group had strength training plus 2 grams of fish oil daily during training; and one group had strength training plus 2 grams of fish oil daily during and for 60 days before training. All three groups had improved strength but the two fish oil groups had significantly more gains in strength than the strength training group only.
So fish oil is not just good for arthritis and the heart; it’ll make you strong too!
